Spring has Sprung
Spring has Sprung
The sun is shining the birds are singing – it’s time to open your windows and let in some fresh air in. Now while spring cleaning can be a little daunting at first, you feel 100% better when you’re done, but where to start? This year we’ve put together a list of a few things that might help you spring into cleaning.
To-do list
The best thing to help you get started is to write a list of what needs to be done. This helps to organise not only your jobs, but your thoughts too. Breaking your home into manageable zones and then listing the things you what to achieve in each of them will help you tackle the job one zone at a time.
Marie Kondo that stuff!
If it doesn’t bring you joy – get rid of it. Make two piles from all of the items you’re decluttering and work out what you are going to donate, what you might be able to sell, then throw out the rest. Make sure you de-clutter your fridge and freezer too (this is a great time to defrost your freezer if you have to as well)
Work smarter
Don’t mop or vacuum your floors first – you’re just going to have to do them again after you have finished cleaning. Instead, work from top to bottom in each room, leaving the floors until last.
Last but not least
Your bed! Now that the weather is getting warmer you might think about taking off some of those blankets, but why not flip your mattress (if you need too) or give it a good vacuum to pick up any of those nasty dust particles that have found their way in. Spray the mattress with some disinfectant spray too, just make sure you do that a couple of hours before bed to give it time to dissipate.
I hope these tips give you a good starting point to take off from when you go to do your spring cleaning this year.
Happy spring!
