Kitchen Taps
Kitchen Taps
Taps are probably the most used appliance in the kitchen and tend to get overlooked because, well, a tap isn’t the most glamorous appliance in the kitchen, is it?
However, in today’s market, there are an overwhelming number of taps available, along with a myriad of accessories to go with them, like a soap dispenser, spray rinse, filter… the list goes on. The pot filler is a convenient but lesser-known accessory. It is installed over your cooktop so that you can fill pots directly and don’t have to lug them around the kitchen.
The basic mixer is probably the most common tap. You would have seen them in houses and washrooms all over the place. This tap’s single handle controls the temperature and pressure of the water. It is simple to use and there are so many different neck options, such as spray coil, pull down and standard swan. You also have to consider the different colour options available, including matt black, chrome, stainless steel, white etc. No matter what style your kitchen is, you’ll be able to find a tap that suits.
You can also choose to have an instant boiling or chilled water tap. These can also provide sparkling or filtered water. You’d have an instant boiling / chilled water tap in addition to the basic mixer, but it can replace your kettle and dispense with the need to refrigerate your water. The heating/cooling unit is stored in the cupboard under the sink. If you’re interested in this kind of thing, Zip and Billi have a great range on their websites for you to have a look at.
If you prefer filtered water, then you might consider installing filters under your sink. Unlike the taps described above, filters will not heat or chill your water, but merely filter your normal tap water and dispense it through a separate tap installed alongside your basic mixer.
