Patterns are back! How you use them in your spaces can be the difference between interior eye candy and eye sore, so here are a few tips on how to pick and use patterns at home.

Size Matters

This is an easy one. Use large patterns on large spaces, for example large furniture like a couch, or even wallpaper. And, you guessed it, keep smaller patterns for smaller, decorative elements like cushions.

Keep the Room Balanced

Patterns draw the eye, so they have a huge impact on the balance of a room, so place them smartly. Don’t put them all on one side of a room, for example.

Mix It Up

You might have heard of “pattern clashing” in fashion and this somewhat controversial design philosophy can also be applied to your home! Provided patterns fall within the same colour palette, we think mixed patterns look great!
